Penn Senator Series Reels Serious big-game anglers trust the Penn Senator series of reels for heavy-duty fishing. American-made Senator Reels have a powerful star Roman® drag system for fish-fighting strength. Senator reels are available in five models. From the high-speed 49L to the mighty muscle of the 12/0 116L, Penn Senator reels have the power to put record fish in the boat. The Special Senator has high-speed, precision machined bronze alloy main gears and stainless steel ball bearings. These reels have the famous HT-10™ multi-disc drag, sealed drag assembly, reinforced sideplates, graphite composite rod clamp and chrome-plated brass on exposed parts to shrug off corrosion. The Senator® II has sealed, stainless steel ball bearings to make casting, free spooling, retrieving and fighting fish easier. Each also has a lightweight, black anodized aluminum spool, HT100 star drag system, heavy-duty precision cut gears, and sealed side plates to protect the drag assembly from water.
